This page says what an agent does without asking you, how to require your approval, and what to do when the result of an action stays unknown.
What happens by default
Section titled “What happens by default”| Action | In Agent mode, by default | In Ask or Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Read a file, use a reading tool, browse the web | No approval | Allowed |
| Write a project file | No approval | Refused |
| Generate an image | No approval | Refused |
| Connection tool that changes something (UEFN, Blender, Meshy, Tripo, Higgsfield…) | No approval, unless you require it | Refused |
These always still apply:
- the mode of the conversation;
- the rights of the profile, including Lecture seule (Read-only) and its tools;
- the restriction of files to the project folder;
- the check that a write targets the version of the file that was read.
A connection must also be assigned to the profile, with Accès des agents (Agent access). A third-party server keeps its own rights over your system: connecting it to Island Pilot does not isolate it.
Require approval
Section titled “Require approval”The setting is made per connection, in each project:
- Open Connexions (Connections) in the sidebar.
- Open the connection’s page, Configuration tab.
- Tick Demander confirmation avant chaque modification (Ask for confirmation before every change).
- Click Enregistrer (Save).
This setting does not cover file writes or image generation by your AI accounts, which do not go through any connection. Even when ticked, it does not apply to Meshy images or Creative Lab prototypes.
Respond to an approval request
Section titled “Respond to an approval request”The agent stops and waits, with no time limit. A notification and a sound alert you, and its status becomes Validation attendue (Approval pending). The request appears above the conversation’s message box.
- Read Arguments de l’action (Action arguments) and, if there is one, Modification proposée (Proposed change).
- Click Autoriser une fois (Allow once) or Refuser (Refuse).
Approval only applies to that one call. A refusal stops the run: “Action refusée. L’exécution s’arrête sans autre appel d’outil.” (Action refused. The run stops with no further tool call.) To continue, send a new message.
The Activity panel
Section titled “The Activity panel”In Workspace, the right-hand panel has an Activité (Activity) tab. For the selected agent, it shows its status and the tokens counted, the plan, then each action. Open a card to read its arguments, its result and, for a write, the difference. The names shown are those of the tools, such as fs_write for a file write.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| À valider (To approve) | Waiting for your approval |
| En cours (In progress) | Running |
| Vérifiée (Verified), Exécutée (Executed), Terminée (Completed) | The tool replied without an error. This does not prove the result is right |
| Refusée (Refused), Annulée (Cancelled), Échec (Failed) | Refusal, stop, or tool error |
| Résultat inconnu (Unknown result) | No reply: see below |
Depending on the situation, the panel offers Reprendre (Resume), Clore la demande (Close the request) and Arrêter l’exécution (Stop the run). Clore la demande abandons a question or a pause without closing the conversation. The Effacer les appels terminés (Clear finished calls) icon empties the display and keeps the history. Exporter le diagnostic (Export diagnostics) saves a JSON file: see Logs and diagnostics.
Unknown result and inspection
Section titled “Unknown result and inspection”A change was sent, but the reply never came back: timeout, disconnection, application closed. The action may have taken place. A notification announces it: “… : résultat inconnu, inspection nécessaire. Consultez Activité.” (…: unknown result, inspection needed. See Activity.)
As long as no finding is recorded, no agent can modify the project. Reads remain possible. Blender tools and game session commands do not trigger this block.
Usually, the agent re-reads the real state itself and records its finding, with nothing for you to do. Otherwise:
- Stop the project’s agents.
- Check what really changed: the file, the editor, your Meshy account.
- On the action’s card, click Consigner une inspection (Record an inspection).
- Describe what you found under Résultat de votre inspection (Result of your inspection), in at least 10 characters.
- Click Enregistrer mon constat (Save my finding).
Island Pilot does not check what you write. Then ask the agent to redo only what is missing.
