Meshy

Meshy is an online service that generates images and 3D models. Island Pilot calls it directly with your API key: there is nothing to install.

  • A Meshy account with API access and credits. Island Pilot does not sell them.
  1. Open Connexions (Connections) in the sidebar, then click Voir la fiche (View the details page) on the Meshy card.
  2. In Configuration, tick Activer cette connexion (Turn on this connection).
  3. Paste your key into Clé API Meshy (Meshy API key), then click Enregistrer la clé (Save the key).
  4. Check for the message “Meshy connecté · clé API vérifiée” (Meshy connected · API key verified).

The key stays in the Windows vault and is used for all your projects. A new key replaces the previous one. See Keys and vault.

A profile also needs access. Your 3D choice gives it to certain specialists. For the others, use Accès des agents › Choisir les agents autorisés (Agent access › Choose the authorised agents), in the Aperçu (Overview) and Outils (Tools) tabs of the details page. A conversation with no profile has access as soon as the connection is turned on.

It gives your agents 34 operations:

Family Operations
Images Text → image, Image → image
3D models Text → 3D, Image → 3D, Multiple images → 3D
Transformations Retopology, Retexturing, Resizing, UV unwrapping, Conversion
Animation Rigging, Animation, Text → motion
3D printing Multicolour printing, Printability analysis, Repair for printing, Automatic splitting
Creative Lab 17 operations, for prototyping and building

The Outils tab of the details page lists them, with a link to Meshy’s documentation. Images sent to Meshy must be PNG or JPEG.

Text → 3D happens in two stages: the conversation card first shows “Meshy · géométrie sans texture” (Meshy · geometry without texture), then “Meshy · texturage du modèle” (Meshy · model texturing). Say right from the start whether you want colours.

Each creation uses credits from your account, depending on the operation. Island Pilot does not show a price before it starts. To find out your balance or your usage, ask an agent: these reads generate nothing and also work in Ask mode.

  • The conversation card tracks the task every 5 seconds, as long as it is visible and Island Pilot is in the foreground. Otherwise, it shows “Aperçu en pause” (Preview paused).
  • At the end, the main format is saved as Pilot/Generated/<task id>/Meshy-<id>.<format>, without overwriting any file. The card shows “Généré ✓ · Téléchargé dans le projet ✓” (Generated ✓ · Downloaded into the project ✓). If the conversation is not displayed, this download waits.
  • For another format, choose it from the card’s list, then click Exporter dans le projet (Export to the project). The limit is 100 MB. A format that is missing needs a conversion first.
  • The 3D preview accepts standalone GLBs, up to 30 MB and 1.5 million vertices.
  • An archive stays an archive: Island Pilot does not extract it. Nothing is imported automatically into UEFN or Blender.

The result then appears in Assets.

Meshy may erase results according to your account’s retention period: keep a local copy. Deleting a task on Meshy is permanent, and the agent only does it on an explicit request. A task that is already being computed cannot be deleted.

  • Within a single request, an identical creation reuses the existing task, with no new billing.
  • After a failure or a limit being reached, the Reprendre (Resume) button restarts from the saved results. A creation of the same type and the same phase that has already been accepted is refused, even with a different prompt. Another phase that is still requested, such as texturing, remains possible.
  • To really generate again, send a new message.
  • After a dropped connection, Meshy may have accepted the creation. Island Pilot never reruns it on its own: the agent must first check the task’s status.
