Several agents in the editor

Several conversations in a project can work at the same time, with no limit on their number. UEFN, for its part, handles one command at a time. Island Pilot organises this sharing with a call queue and reservations.

Commands to the same editor go through one after the other, reads included. Several agents therefore do not speed up each individual call: the gain comes from work done outside the editor. Blender and custom MCP servers have their own queue too. Meshy and Tripo do not.

An agent’s first change to an item reserves it until the end of its mission, or until it is stopped. Reading a reserved item remains possible. A specialist shares the reservations of the orchestrator that launched it, but two specialists block each other.

Item Reserved?
Island asset or actor Yes
.verse file Yes
Blender scene Yes, as a whole
Destination folder No: several agents can create different assets in it
Other project files No: a write is refused if the file has changed since it was read
Meshy, Tripo, Higgsfield, custom MCP servers No

Reservations are specific to each project.

The agent’s status, in Activité (Activity), shows the reason for its wait.

Message Cause Maximum wait
En attente : Verse Coder a réservé le fichier Verse game/hud.verse pour sa mission en cours. (Waiting: Verse Coder has reserved the Verse file game/hud.verse for its current mission.) Another agent holds this item. 45 seconds
En attente : Verse Coder compile le Verse ou pilote la session de jeu. (Waiting: Verse Coder is compiling the Verse or driving the game session.) A compile or a session command is occupying the editor. 10 minutes
En attente : UI Engineer termine une étape dans l’éditeur. (Waiting: UI Engineer is finishing a step in the editor.) A compile is waiting for another agent’s step to finish. 10 minutes

After this delay, the call is refused without changing anything. The agent must move on to another part of its mission and try again later, or finish by reporting the blockage. It must not work around the reservation.

A compile or a session command goes through alone, then tells the agent what the others were in the middle of changing. Errors on those items are not the agent’s own. If the error list looks odd to you, wait for the other agents to finish and compile again.

A change can occupy the editor for up to 10 minutes. An editor that stops responding is waited for up to 3 minutes more.

If the editor does not confirm a change in time, the action moves to Résultat inconnu (Unknown result). No agent in the project can then change anything until a finding is recorded. Reads remain possible.

The agent normally reads the real state again and records its finding. You can do it too:

  1. In Activité, click Consigner une inspection (Record an inspection).
  2. Describe what really changed in Résultat de votre inspection (Result of your inspection), using at least 10 characters.
  3. Click Enregistrer mon constat (Save my finding).
  • Your own actions. A reservation does not apply to what you do in UEFN. See the limits.
  • Scripts. Island Pilot recognises items from the paths present in the call. A script that builds its paths while it runs may escape it.
  • Overall consistency. Two agents can change different items and produce an inconsistent result. Give them independent tasks.
  • The big picture. No list of reservations is shown. You only see the status of the agent that is waiting.

While an agent is working, the project, its profiles and its connections cannot change: Arrêtez les agents de ce projet avant de le modifier. (Stop this project’s agents before changing it.)

Each agent uses up your subscription’s quota: more agents use it up faster.
