Change computer

Your licence works on one computer at a time. To change, you release the old one, from the old PC or from the new one. You do not need the old PC if it is broken, lost or stolen.

Before you start

Three changes are possible per 30-day period. See The limits.
Your projects, conversations and API keys do not follow the licence: they stay on the old PC. See Where your files are and Data and backups.

If you still have the old PC

On the old PC:

Open Paramètres › Compte et licence (Settings › Account and licence).
In the Ordinateur (Computer) section, click Changer d’ordinateur (Change computer).
Read the message, then click Libérer cet ordinateur (Release this computer).

The Ordinateur libéré (Computer released) screen appears. Your account stays signed in on this PC and your projects stay there.

On the new PC:

Download Island Pilot from your client area and install it.
Sign in with the same email address. The licence activates on this PC.

If you no longer have the old PC

Everything happens on the new PC:

Download Island Pilot from your client area and install it.
Sign in with the email address of your purchase. The Votre licence est active sur un autre ordinateur (Your licence is active on another computer) screen appears, with the list of your computers.
Click Retirer (Remove) next to the old PC.
Confirm by clicking Retirer in the Retirer cet ordinateur (Remove this computer) window.

The licence activates on the PC where you are signed in. The new computer then appears in your client area, under Your computer.

If Windows has been reinstalled, Island Pilot may see your PC as a new computer: the procedure is the same.

Go back to a released computer

On the released PC, click Utiliser sur cet ordinateur (Use on this computer). If the licence has in the meantime become active on another PC, the Votre licence est active sur un autre ordinateur screen appears: remove the other PC to take the place back.

The limits

Three changes per 30-day period. Each release or removal counts as one change, and the counter covers the last 30 days.
Beyond that, the app displays Limite atteinte : 3 changements d’ordinateur en 30 jours. Contactez le support. (Limit reached: 3 computer changes in 30 days. Contact support.) Write to contact@saulcorp.com: an extra change is made on simple request.
Signing out does not release the computer. Use Changer d’ordinateur or Retirer.
Duo plan: each seat has its own account. Each person manages their computer from their own.
The client area cannot change computers. It only displays them: the change is made in the app.

If the message Cet ordinateur n’est plus lié au compte. (This computer is no longer linked to the account.) appears, the computer has already been removed. Click Vérifier à nouveau (Check again) to read the licence status again.
