Manage several projects

A project links a folder on your PC to its conversations, agents and tasks. You will be able to create, switch, edit and delete projects without nasty surprises.

Create a project

1. In the top bar, next to the project name, click + (Nouveau projet, New project).
2. Fill in Nom du projet (Project name) and, if you like, Description.
3. In Workspace, choose the project folder.
4. If needed, add Instructions du projet (Project instructions): conventions, constraints and rules shared by your agents.
5. Click Créer le projet (Create the project).

The project opens on the Vue d’ensemble (Overview).

Tip

For an island, choose the folder that contains the .uefnproject file.

The folder must exist, and it can be neither another project’s folder nor inside another project’s folder. Each project has its own conversations, agents, settings and To-Do. Tendances Maps (Map Trends) and your profile are shared by all of them.

Switch project

Choose a project in the list in the top bar. If some files have drafts that have not been proposed, Island Pilot asks you to choose between Garder le projet ouvert (Keep the project open) and Abandonner les brouillons et changer (Discard the drafts and switch).

Switching project does not stop the agents working in the previous project.

Edit a project

1. Right-click the project name in the top bar.
2. Click Modifier le projet (Edit the project). The same button exists in Paramètres › Général (Settings › General).
3. Change what you need.
4. Click Enregistrer (Save).

If an agent is working, Island Pilot refuses and displays “Arrêtez les agents de ce projet avant de le modifier.” (Stop this project’s agents before editing it.)

Changing the Workspace does not move any file. The project simply points to the new folder. If you moved the folder yourself, enter its new location here.

Delete a project

1. Right-click the project name in the top bar.
2. Click Supprimer ce projet… (Delete this project…).
3. Confirm.

Stop this project’s agents first. You can also use Supprimer ce projet in the Modifier le projet window.

Caution

The text of your Noteboards and your conversations are not in the project folder. They disappear with the project. A deletion cannot be undone, but a copy of the database may exist in your backups.

To pick the island up again later, create a project on the same folder. You get back the UI Design, the thumbnails and Pilot/PROJECT.md, because they are files. The conversations do not come back.
