Updates
Island Pilot looks for new versions by itself, but installs nothing without your click. Updates are included in your licence.
How you are notified
Section titled “How you are notified”A few seconds after launch, then every 30 minutes, the app queries the server. If there is a new version, the Boîte de réception (Inbox) in the top bar opens, with an orange Mise à jour disponible (Update available) button and the new features.
For this, you must be connected to the Internet and to your account, with an active licence. Otherwise nothing is shown and the app keeps working.
Install
Section titled “Install”- Click Mettre à jour (Update). The download happens in the background: you can keep working. The cross Annuler le téléchargement (Cancel the download) stops it.
- When it has finished, click Redémarrer pour installer (Restart to install) in the top bar, or Redémarrer et installer (Restart and install) in the inbox.
- If drafts are unsaved or agents are working, the Installer la mise à jour maintenant ? (Install the update now?) window opens. Choose Continuer dans Pilot (Continue in Pilot) to finish your work, or Installer et redémarrer (Install and restart).
The app then stops the agents and terminals, copies its database into the backups folder, installs itself and relaunches. Your projects and your conversations are kept.
On return, the inbox shows Island Pilot est passé à la version (Island Pilot has been updated to version), followed by the number, with the new features.
Postpone or skip
Section titled “Postpone or skip”| Button | What it does |

Check by hand
Section titled “Check by hand”- Open the Boîte de réception.
- Click Rechercher une mise à jour (Check for an update).
You read Island Pilot est à jour. (Island Pilot is up to date.), or the available version. You also find your own version there, also shown at the bottom right of the window.
If the update fails
Section titled “If the update fails”The Boîte de réception shows the message. Nothing is installed.

As a last resort, download the installer from your client area and run it over the app. See Install.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Every update is signed, and its signature is checked before installation.
- The programs of your AI accounts, such as Codex or Claude Code, have their own updates. Island Pilot does not handle them.
- An older version may refuse a database that has already moved to a recent version, with Cette base a été créée par une version plus récente d’Island Pilot. (This database was created by a newer version of Island Pilot.)
