Install Island Pilot
At the end of this page, Island Pilot is installed on your PC and ready to open.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A purchase: downloads are reserved for accounts that have an active licence.
- A PC that meets the system requirements.
Download
Section titled “Download”- Open your client area: islandpilot.app/account.
- Sign in with the email address you used to buy. You receive a sign-in link, valid for 1 hour.
- Click Télécharger pour Windows (Download for Windows).
You get a file named Island Pilot_<version>_x64-setup.exe.
Install
Section titled “Install”- Close Island Pilot if it is already open.
- Run the downloaded file. If Windows shows a warning, see the next section.
- Follow the wizard, which is in English, to its last page.
- Tick Create desktop shortcut if you want a shortcut on the desktop.
- Click Finish.
Installation is for your Windows account, without administrator rights, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Island Pilot. If Microsoft Edge WebView2 is missing, the installer downloads it: it needs Internet.
If Windows shows a warning
Section titled “If Windows shows a warning”At the first installation, Windows may show Windows a protégé votre ordinateur (Windows protected your PC). The installer does not yet carry a recognised Windows signature, and this filter distrusts programs it does not know. It is not the detection of a virus.
- Check that the file really comes from your client area.
- Click Informations complémentaires (More info).
- Click Exécuter quand même (Run anyway).
Updates are done from the app: they do not show this warning.
Launch the app
Section titled “Launch the app”- Open Island Pilot from the Start menu.
- The logo is shown for a few seconds, then the guided welcome begins.
Only one window can be open: launching the app again brings back the one that already exists.
Reinstall
Section titled “Reinstall”Run an installer over the existing app: %USERPROFILE%\.island-pilot and your projects are not touched. If there is a problem at startup, see The app does not start.
