Common misconceptions

A few things people often say, with the short answer.

No. UEFN remains the editor of your island. Island Pilot works alongside it, using the tools the editor makes available. These tools depend on your version of UEFN: see the limits.

No. Island Pilot is an independent tool, published by SAUL CORP and not affiliated with Epic Games.

No. You use your own subscription or your own key, with the provider of your choice. See What else you need.

No. Island Pilot is paid for once, and the licence has no time limit. The subscriptions in question are those of your AI services. See Plans and prices.

No. The agents write the Verse and act in the editor. But you do need to test the result in game and explain what is wrong: that work remains yours.

No. Both are optional. You can work only with the assets and tools of UEFN, and your own files. See Choose your 3D tool.

No. Your projects and your conversations stay on your PC. However, what the agents look at (files, logs, screenshots) is sent to the agent’s AI provider. The details are in How it works.

“The agents do nothing without my approval”

Not by default. In Agent mode, they write to the project and use the enabled connections without asking for confirmation, including for paid operations. Ask and Plan modes, and read-only profiles, change nothing. You can restore confirmation connection by connection, with Demander confirmation avant chaque modification (Ask for confirmation before every change). See Permissions.

No. Its backups cover its local database, not the files of the island. Keep your own copies, or version control. See Your data and backups.

“The agents build a finished island, all by themselves”

No. A bounded task gives better results than a general wish, and an agent can make mistakes. Its report is not proof: creating something, importing it into UEFN and testing it in game are three different steps.

You can install it, but each access works on one computer at a time. Three computer changes are possible per 30-day period. See Change computer.

Not really. The agents need Internet to reach your AI provider, and the licence is checked online from time to time. Offline, Paramètres › Compte et licence (Settings › Account and licence) shows until when the app keeps working. After that, it asks you to reconnect to the Internet. Your projects stay on your PC.

No. Island Pilot is designed for Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
