Logs and diagnostics

Island Pilot keeps a technical log and can check its own configuration. These two tools help you understand a problem, and give us what we need to help you.

It checks your configuration in read-only mode: no file, setting or scene object is modified. It also runs at startup, with no agent or model call.

  1. Open a project.
  2. Open Paramètres › Diagnostic (Settings › Diagnostics). You can also go through Paramètres › Général (Settings › General), Diagnostic au démarrage (Startup diagnostics) section, Consulter / relancer le diagnostic (View / rerun the diagnostics) button.
  3. Click Vérifier la configuration (Check the configuration).

If the message Arrêtez les agents de ce projet avant de le modifier. (Stop this project’s agents before changing it.) appears, wait for them to finish their work or stop them, then run it again.

Each line has a state: Vérifié (Verified), À vérifier (To check), Problème (Problem) or Information.

Line What it checks
Base locale (Local database) The integrity of your local data
Lancement (Launch) Island Pilot is launched directly, and not from another application
Workspace The project folder is accessible
Your AI gateways The installed CLI, its version and your session
Your Skills and Profil : … (Profile: …) The built-in Skills and the agent profiles
Your connections Each enabled connection responds, and what it allows
Actions incertaines (Uncertain actions) An action with an unknown result remains to be inspected

The details are in Diagnostics.

  1. Open Paramètres › Général, then the Log&Error tab.
  2. Choose Log to see everything, or Errors for errors only.
  3. Click Actualiser (Refresh), then Copier (Copy) to paste it into a message.

The log covers the last 24 hours. It contains only technical events: conversations, tool arguments and secrets are excluded. It may show project or file names. Read it over before sharing it publicly.

The Données (Data) tab of Paramètres › Général offers:

  • Ouvrir le dossier (Open the folder), to display %USERPROFILE%\.island-pilot;
  • Vérifier l’intégrité (Check integrity), to check the database;
  • Créer une sauvegarde (Create a backup), to do before you change anything.

See Data and backups.

The simplest way is the built-in report: the Signaler un problème (Report a problem) icon, at the top of the app, with the Joindre le diagnostic (Attach the diagnostics) option.

This option adds the latest lines of the log and the number of your projects. The versions of the app and of Windows go with the report even if you untick it. See Getting help and Your data.

If the app no longer opens, write to contact@saulcorp.com with the exact message and a screenshot.

Your version number is shown in the inbox, at the top of the app. See What’s new.
