Customise an agent
An agent is a profile you can adapt: what it knows, what it is allowed to do and the engine it uses. Each profile belongs to a project.
Open an agent
Section titled “Open an agent”- Click Agents in the sidebar.
- Click the agent’s card: Personnaliser l’agent (Customise the agent) opens.
- Make your changes in the tabs.
- Click Enregistrer l’agent (Save the agent).
Saving is refused as long as an agent is working on the project: “Arrêtez les agents de ce projet avant de le modifier.” (Stop the agents in this project before changing it.) Changes apply from the next message.
The Profile tab

The instructions supplied are in English. You can write your own in your language.
Under Budgets de travail (Work budgets): Étapes maximum (Maximum steps) (1 to 30), Longueur cible (tokens) (Target length (tokens)) (128 to 32,000) and Budget de contexte (octets JSON) (Context budget (JSON bytes)) (8,000 to 1,000,000). If the agent can delegate, this block leaves room for Délégations maximum par demande (Maximum delegations per request) (1 to 12).
The Skills tab
Section titled “The Skills tab”A Skill brings instructions. It grants no right and adds no tool.
- Tout activer (Enable all) ticks all the Skills. Garder les Skills intégrés (Keep the built-in Skills) removes the others.
- Rechercher un Skill (Search for a Skill) filters the list. The switch turns a Skill on or removes it.
- Ponytail and the Pilot guide always stay loaded.
The agent loads the useful Skills on demand: having them all enabled does not load them all with every message.
The Tools tab
Section titled “The Tools tab”The Outils (Tools) tab has switches that allow Island Pilot’s actions: Lire les fichiers (Read files), Proposer des modifications (Propose changes), Créer une image (Create an image), Rechercher sur le web (Search the web), Poser une question et attendre (Ask a question and wait)…
- Connexions du projet (Project connections) assigns a connection to the agent. It must also be enabled in the store.
- Limiter les outils d’un MCP (Limit an MCP’s tools) restricts a connection to a few tools, one per line.
- Confier une tâche à un spécialiste (Assign a task to a specialist) turns this agent into an orchestrator. It will no longer be able to receive a delegated mission.
- Charger les Skills (Load Skills) must stay on so that a mission can be delegated to it.
These settings come on top of the permissions: a tool switched off here cannot be called, even in Agent mode.
The Memory and Usage tabs
Section titled “The Memory and Usage tabs”Mémoire (Memory) contains Utiliser cette mémoire (Use this memory) and Notes mémorisées (Saved notes). See Project memory.
Usage shows this profile’s conversations, requests and tokens, as declared by the CLIs. It shows neither quota nor cost. Quotas are read in the conversation.
Create an agent
Section titled “Create an agent”- On the Agents page, click Créer un agent (Create an agent) or the Nouvel agent (New agent) card.
- Give it at least a Nom, then set the tabs.
- Click Enregistrer l’agent.
It starts with the role “Assistant de création” (Creation assistant), the Codex CLI · ChatGPT engine on Automatic, all the Skills, all the tools except Confier une tâche à un spécialiste, and memory turned on.
Updates and deletion
Section titled “Updates and deletion”An Island Pilot update refreshes the text of a supplied specialist only if you have not modified it. Supprimer cet agent (Delete this agent), at the bottom of its page, keeps its conversations and its log. A supplied specialist that you delete does not come back by itself.
