The publishing kit
The kit gathers what Epic Games’ creator portal asks for your island: five images and two optional videos. It shows what is missing, checks the formats and prepares the files. Uploading to the portal is left for you to do.
According to the Epic pages consulted in October 2026, the five images have been mandatory since 15 October 2026: without them, an island cannot be submitted for review. Check these pages before you publish.
To open the kit, click Kit de publication (Publishing kit), at the top of the gallery in the Miniatures (Thumbnails) tab. Galerie (Gallery) takes you back to the list.

Each image is 5 MB at most. The kit shows “PNG ou JPG” (PNG or JPG) for landscape and portrait, because the portal accepts both. Island Pilot saves them as JPG, and the logo as a transparent PNG.
Leave the top and bottom free, that is 15% or 200 px: Discover displays its interface there. Aperçu dans Discover (Preview in Discover) places your logo on the art-only versions, with Logo en haut (Logo at the top) or Logo en bas (Logo at the bottom).
Fill a slot
Section titled “Fill a slot”On each row:
- Choisir… (Choose…) takes a thumbnail of the same format. An uncategorised image takes the slot’s variant.
- Générer (Generate), on an empty row, sets the Studio to this format. Describe the scene and start the generation: the image arrives in the gallery, and it still has to be placed.
- Dropping an image on the row imports it and places it.
- Right-clicking also offers Relire (règles Epic) (Review (Epic rules)) and Vider l’emplacement (Empty the slot).
From a thumbnail’s details, Placer (Place) or Remplacer (Replace) does the same thing.
Complete with AI
Section titled “Complete with AI”Compléter avec l’IA… (Complete with AI…) adapts an existing thumbnail for each empty slot.
- In step 3 of the Studio, set Modèle (Model) and Qualité (Quality). You need a generator that receives images: not Grok.
- Click Compléter avec l’IA….
- Choose a landscape or portrait thumbnail.
If the thumbnail is categorised and its slot is empty, it fills that slot first. An image is then generated and placed for each remaining slot, and each one counts as a generation. The lettering reuses the thumbnail’s title, or the project name if there is none. Check the result: the generator must remove the text from the art-only versions and rebuild what it was hiding.
Créer le kit avec l’IA (Create the kit with AI) starts from scratch: the UI Designer creates the five images of a single scene from the project’s memory. It can replace an image that has already been placed, which stays in the gallery.
The videos
Section titled “The videos”Bande-annonce (Trailer) and Vidéo de gameplay (Gameplay video) are optional. Choisir… opens a MOV, MP4 or M4V file. Island Pilot checks it without copying it: it must stay where it is.

A video that does not fit stays saved in the kit, with the list of what differs. Revérifier (Check again) runs the check again after you have corrected it.
Island Pilot does not record, edit or convert any video. The Copier la commande de conversion (Copy the conversion command) command, on right-click, converts a video with ffmpeg, software that you install yourself:

Section titled “Export”- Click Exporter le kit (Export the kit). You need at least one image.
- The images are copied into
Pilot/Thumbnails/Kitunder the names in the table, and File Explorer opens. - Upload them to the creator portal.
A new export replaces the previous files and removes the one for a slot that has been emptied. Videos are not copied: upload them from their own folder.
